Big band, rock, pop & jazz choir, symphony orchestra and university choir taster sessions

1) groovING TUC Big Band
Are you musically inclined and play an instrument? Then our Big Band is the right place for you! You can make contact with students and lecturers as well as administrative staff and people from all kinds of professions. We are all amateur musicians who enjoy music from the genres of funk, jazz, rock, pop and even techno arranged for a big band. After each semester we play a concert, and every year we organize a workshop with a well-known big band great, including Frank Nowicky, Lutz Krajenski, Achim Kück, Monika Roscher and MEUTE. If you want to make music even more, you can do so in our Jazz Combo, which is always made up of people from the big band who have time to play. We invite you to drop in on our rehearsal days without obligation. We also have instruments for hire if you don't have your own instrument. Our rehearsal room is also available for you to practice in the evenings and at weekends outside of lecture times. Our band members receive a 10% discount on the internet price at Musikhaus Thomann. Just come to our rehearsal, every Friday from 18:00 - 20:00 in the Institute of Mathematics. Please register in advance at bigband@tu-clausthal.de so that we can have sheet music and, if necessary, loan instruments ready for you. But you can also just come and see what it's like here first. Of course, we would be happy for you to bring your own instrument. 2) singING TUC Rock, Pop & Jazz Choir
We sing songs from the rock, pop and jazz genres, for example by Udo Lindenberg and Apache 207, Ed Sheeran, Revolverheld, Queen, Zaz and many others. For some songs, such as Africa by Toto, we are accompanied by the groovING TUC Big Band. As a particularly versatile choir, we naturally also have jazz vocals in our program, and we sing our songs in German, English, French, Italian and, if required, in Portuguese or Spanish. So you don't have to worry about standing out with your language, we don't always sing in our mother tongue either. With us, you can learn to express yourself in other languages, far away from the technical language at the TU. You don't have to be able to read music for our modern choir, as our choirmaster provides us with every voice we need in the right pitch for downloading. So we can always hear our voice and sing along. Students, lecturers, administrative staff and singers from all kinds of professions from the region sing in our choir. We give you a great opportunity to network. We give a joint concert with the groovING TUC Big Band after each semester and sing in front of 200-350 people. We are happy to welcome new singers into our great community. We rehearse every Monday from 17:45-19:15 in the auditorium of the Haupt- und Realschule, Berliner Str. 48 in Clausthal.
