Early studies for school pupils
Early study is an additional educational offer for particularly gifted pupils with commitment and performance reserves. The basis for such an offer is Section 19 (3) of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act, which makes this type of support for gifted students possible.
The pupils take part in regular courses for students, e.g. lectures, seminars and tutorials, and can take the relevant examinations while still at school.
Early students are enrolled (matriculated) at the university like real students and do not pay any semester fees (fees, charges and fees). They remain pupils, for whom the basic rule is: school comes first! The first goal is the Abitur. Therefore, the school's consent is absolutely necessary. Students should be able to maintain their level of performance despite the additional workload.
Credits earned in early studies are recognized in a later regular course of study if they are equivalent and can therefore shorten the period of study subject to contributions and fees.
Who can take part?
Pupils from grammar schools and equivalent educational institutions who
- are interested in one of the subjects offered at TU Clausthal
- would like to take on the challenge of school and university
- have performed very well at school to date.
There are no restrictions regarding age or grade level.
