Starting college brings with it many new experiences, questions, and challenges. To help you quickly find your way around Clausthal University of Technology and get off to a good start in your studies, our first-semester tutors are here to support you during Welcome Week. They’ll help you find your way around the university, answer any questions you have about your studies and the campus, and make your arrival in Clausthal as smooth as possible. At the same time, the group activities offer you the chance to meet your new classmates and make your first connections.

To ensure you receive the information relevant to your degree program right from the start, all first-semester students are divided into small, subject-specific groups. Together with your first-semester tutor, you’ll discuss program-specific topics, receive important guidance, and have the chance to clarify any questions you may have. This way, you’ll not only get to know your degree program better but also your future classmates and the university.

Getting Off to a Good Start Together

During Welcome Week, various meetings and activities take place in the subject-specific small groups. The individual time slots are organized independently by the respective groups and tutors. This allows the content and activities to be tailored to the group’s needs.

Among other things, you can expect the following topics and activities:

• Arriving at Clausthal University of Technology: You’ll get to know Clausthal University of Technology, important points of contact, and central facilities, and receive an overview of the first steps in your studies.
• Getting to Know Your Study Group: Through group activities and discussions, you’ll have the opportunity to make connections and get to know your future classmates better.
• Timetable & Academic Organization: Together with your tutor, you’ll create your individual timetable and receive important information on the Implementation Regulations (AFB), module handbooks, elective catalogs, the General Examination Regulations (APO), and exam registration.
• Discovering the Library: You’ll get to know the university library and learn where and how to access literature and other resources for your studies. Depending on the program, you can also look forward to an exciting escape room game.
• Life in Clausthal: You’ll receive tips and information about student life in Clausthal—from recreational activities to important resources for everyday life.
• Campus Rally: Through a digital rally, you’ll explore the campus, get to know important locations, and have a fun way to strike up conversations with your new classmates.
