Writing advice for doctoral candidates

Current note

We currently offer our writing consultations online via video chat (BigBlueButton). You will receive the link to the virtual consultation room by email after registering. If you have any questions, please send us an email: schreibwerkstatt@tu-clausthal.de

The writing consultation for doctoral candidates offers you the opportunity to reflect on your complex writing project, identify stumbling blocks and develop options for further work. If necessary, you will receive interdisciplinary feedback on your text from a trained writing consultant.

Interdisciplinary feedback

"Interdisciplinary feedback" here means:
- Clarification of the requirements of specific text types (e.g. proposal, abstract, parts of the dissertation, research paper, journal article, etc.) - Feedback on the understanding of the text from the perspective of an interested layperson - Suggestions for linguistic or stylistic revision
- Feedback on text comprehension from the perspective of an interested layperson
- Suggestions for linguistic or stylistic revision
A meeting usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes and is designed to secure concrete results for further work. Follow-up appointments are possible depending on capacity.
