Individual advice

The Central Student Advisory Service will answer your questions about studying in a personal consultation, in a telephone conversation, by e-mail or in a video conference. The topics on which we advise:

  • What requirements do I need to meet to study?
  • What are the application deadlines?
  • Is there an NC?
  • How can I get to know the university?
  • Can I study without a high school diploma?
  • Is it better to start in the summer or winter semester?
  • When do I have to look for a place in a hall of residence?
  • What career prospects do I have with the degree program?
  • Do I need an internship for my Bachelor's degree?
  • What is the application process for a Master's degree?

Transition from school to university

  • The transition from school to university is an exciting experience for all prospective students. Even choosing a course of study is a difficult matter, and the large selection of courses throughout Germany does not make the decision any easier.
  • First-year students also often quickly realize that there are fundamental differences between attending school and studying at university. For example, a high degree of independence is generally required for a degree course and the individual support you are used to at school is not possible on every course.
  • This makes it all the more important to prepare well for the start of your studies so that nothing stands in the way of a successful start!
